
A MAN has been sentenced to 11 years in prison for an attempted murder in Port Glasgow.
Michael Doherty, 46, pictured, was sentenced at the High Court in Edinburgh today after being found guilty earlier this year of committing the attack in January 2024.
The victim, a 56-year-old man, was found within a property on Teviot Road and taken to Queen Elizabeth University Hospital for treatment.

Detective Inspector Nicky Beattie said: “This was a violent attack which left a man with very serious injuries. Doherty will now face the consequences of his actions in prison.
“Violence has no place in our communities and we remain committed to bringing those responsible for such crimes to justice.”
