PLAN For Promenade Cafe At Gourock

AN application has been submitted to open a café in a derelict building by the Clyde at Gourock.

The proposal involves premises at 93 Albert Road, at the start of Ashton Promenade.

Drawings submitted to Inverclyde Council planning department by Rebecchi Architectural show the premises would have five tables.

Windows would be created in the wall facing the river.

Planners gave permission in 2014 for the building to be used as a cafe although that proposal didn’t go ahead.

At that time officials stated: “Currently the building is a shell and suffers from a number of issues. Bringing the building back into use will have an overall positive visual impact on the promenade.”

The new application is pending consideration.
