GREENOCK Town Centre Car Parks Closing

25 July, 2026 | Local

THE Bullring Roundabout and Hunter’s Place car parks will close to vehicles and pedestrians from Monday (27 July) as the next stages of the Central Greenock project get underway.

Work will be taking place for around a year on removal of the Bullring Roundabout and High Street flyover to create a new, ground level, traffic light crossroads.

Hunter Place and Wallace Place, including the slip road off the A8, will be shut to vehicles from Monday 3 August. Car parking in Wallace Place will stop from 3 August.

Pedestrian access from Clyde Square, including to and from the Municipal Buildings and Central Library, will remain open but there will be no onward access to Hunter’s Place.

The main pedestrian diversion will be via the crossing at William Street, along Dalrymple Street and the Bullring, on to Container Way, Dalrymple Street and Hunter’s Place.
