POLICE have appealed for witnesses after a 23-year-old man suffered serious injuries in a crash.
Emergency services were called to Inverkip Road, near Flatterton Road, Greenock, around 4.40am today (Monday).
The crash involved a red Audi a1. The driver and sole occupant was taken to the Queen Elizabeth University Hospital for treatment.
The road was closed to allow for enquiries to be carried out and re-opened around 11.45am.
Sergeant John Houston said: “Our enquiries are ongoing to establish the circumstances of this crash.
“I would appeal to anyone who witnessed the crash and who hasn’t already spoken to officers to contact us.
“I would also ask anyone who was in the area around the time and who has dash-cam or private CCTV which could assist to get in touch.”
