GREENOCK Cricket Club’s annual Gig On The Green is promising a varied line-up of local musical talent.
It takes place at the club’s ground on Brisbane Street on Sunday 7 September, from 12.30pm.
Organiser Colin McCahill said: “The line-up this year for the gig is all local acts. It’s been a number of years since only local acts have performed. There is a real variety of acts. There are young up and coming ones as well as the seasoned, well-known ones. And we have the Rock Choir performing too.”

Playing for the first time are two young bands, Succession and Rants, and another young band making their second appearance are The Dunlops, former pupils of Notre Dame High School.
Cover bands Fandangos will play from Cash to Bowie, and Nobody’s Heroes will perform some punk rock anthems.
Also on stage will be The Social, a four-piece indie group, and Durty Mac, playing favourite rock covers.
Finishing off the Gig will be Sovirez, who have been involved in lots of festival events.

Also in the line-up are three-piece girl act River; solo cover guitarist/singer Sean O’Donnell; and Neil Buie, a solo guitarist/singer who first performed at the gig a few years ago
Thomas Campbell, who is lead singer with The Social is doing a short slot on the small stage along with his young son Samuel.
A limited number of tickets are now available at Greenock Cricket Club on Brisbane Street, priced £8. Once these are sold, tickets will be available at the gate on the day and will be priced £10.
