STUART McMillan of the SNP has been re-elected as Greenock and Inverclyde’s MSP.
The local count for the Scottish Parliament election took place at Greenock Town Hall today, following voting on Thursday.


McMillan attracted 14,193 votes and had a majority of 5,317 over Labour’s Francesca Brennan. Reform UK’s Scotland leader Malcolm Offord was in third place with 5,649 votes.
Mr McMillan said it was an honour and a privilege to serve as the area’s MSP and that he did not take it for granted.

Ted Runciman, Scottish Conservative and Unionist Party: 1,351
Voter turnout was around 52 per cent of the total eligible electorate of 62,118. The number of votes cast was 32,181.
The election was for the new Inverclyde constituency following recent boundary changes with the Inverclyde seat now including the entirety of the Inverclyde Council boundary. Inverclyde sits within the West of Scotland region.
