AN event is being held to celebrate the launch of digital archive BFI Replay in Inverclyde.
It takes place in Greenock Central Library, Wallace Place, on Thursday 21 August, 5.30pm to 6.45pm.
It will explore the archives and collaborative work of the British Film Institute (BFI) and National Library of Scotland, including a screening of the 1974 short film, Sea City — Greenock.
BFI Replay is a free-to-access archive uncovering stories from across the UK, its history and its people and is available exclusively in UK public libraries.
The Greenock event will include archival insights from Nicky Williams of the BFI and Ann Cameron from the National Library of Scotland plus curated highlights from BFI Replay itself.

Sea City – Greenock features the Scott Lithgow shipyard, the town’s industries, houses and people and is part of the national library’s Films of Scotland Collection which comprises some 150 documentary films showing the nation’s changing face from 1955 to 1982.
