
OLD Gourock and Ashton Parish Church is holding a free community fun day as part of its year-long 250th anniversary celebrations.
It will be held in the Gourock Park playing fields off George Road, Gourock, on Saturday 30 May from 11am to 4pm.

There will be numerous stalls, including many run by the church organisations.
The five Gourock schools will take part in various fun events and people will have the opportunity to take part in sports challenges laid on by Gourock YAC, Gourock Golf Club and Fort Matilda tennis club.
Musical entertainment will be provided throughout the day by the Stedfast Silver Band, Inverclyde Voices, ukulele players, 2nd Port Glasgow Boys’ Brigade marching band and the Urban Fokkers.
Gourock Farmers’ Market will relocate to the park for the day; there will be a fancy-dress competition for younger children and a ‘Bake a Cake’ challenge.
Other highlights include heritage fire engines, ice cream van, five bouncy castles, a nature trail, Inverclyde Leisure exercise class, face painter, classic cars and a ‘Hoot’ Owls’ display.
Parking restrictions will in place on the surrounding roads, so people are encouraged to either park slightly further away and walk, be dropped off at the gate or opt for public transport.
