A PUBLIC event exploring the future of education in Scotland from a Christian perspective will take place in Greenock on Tuesday (26 May).
The Inverclyde Education Information Evening, hosted by Unite For Education, will bring together parents, teachers, students, community leaders, and local residents for an evening of information, discussion, and practical guidance.
It will run from 7 to 9pm at Hope Community Church Inverclyde, 44 Kelly Street, Greenock PA16 8TR (doors open 6:15pm). Registration is free and open to all.
The event aims to provide insight into the challenges and opportunities facing Scotland’s education landscape, with a particular focus on how Christian families, educators, and community members can contribute positively and constructively within local schools and wider society.
It will feature:
● The biblical, cultural, and practical reasons Christian involvement in education matters
● Clear pathways for all to serve confidently and appropriately in educational settings
● Testimonies from Christians making a positive difference in schools
● The laws, policies, and political landscape shaping Scottish education
● Ways churches, families, and communities can pray, volunteer, partner, and support
● Practical tools for those wanting to engage with wisdom, respect, and clarity
● Those making a difference in Scotland who will be exhibiting
A spokesman said: “This event is about equipping ordinary people with understanding, confidence, and practical steps. Education affects every family and every community in Scotland. We want to help people engage constructively, respectfully, and with a heart to see young people flourish and not to continue to see the headlines of disaster in our schools and streets.

“The evening is open to everyone, regardless of background or level of involvement in education. The aim is to create a space for understanding, conversation, helping those with concerns,
meeting those making a difference and community engagement, not controversy.
“We believe Scotland is strengthened when communities come together to understand the issues facing our young people and to work for their good. This evening is about unity, clarity, and hope for this and the next generation and for our nation.”
