PAVEMENT Seating Plan For Gourock Venue Rejected

28 August, 2026 | Local

A GOUROCK bar/restaurant has been refused permission for outdoor tables.

Cafe Continental on Kempock Street submitted an application to Inverclyde Council for an external seating area on the pavement at the front of the premises.

A drawing included with the proposal showed that there would have been five tables, each with two seats.

Officials have rejected the plan although their reasons for refusal have not be published yet on the council planning portal

A previous application in 2017 was also refused by planners after council roads staff stated that there would be “danger to the public” because the path is too narrow.
