THE Central Greenock regeneration project went up a gear this week as major, long-term roadworks started.
The south side of the Bullring Roundabout and the A78 High Street flyover are now closed while the roundabout and flyover are demolished.
A new surface level crossroads will be built instead, along with landscaping.
The current stage of the work is expected to last around 63 weeks with diversion routes in place.
Also continuing is demolition of the eastern side of the Oak Mall shopping centre.
