THE Care Inspectorate has applied to the sheriff court to get a Greenock care home provider’s registration cancelled.
The action has been prompted after has after “evidence of serious risk to people experiencing care” at Larkfield View Care Centre on Burns Road.
The centre has capacity for up to 90 residents and specialises in respite / short stay; dementia; nursing; and palliative / end-of-life care.

Inspector raised concerns about choking and restraint issues earlier this year.
A spokesperson for the Care Inspectorate said: “Inspections have identified serious and significant concerns about the quality of care experienced by residents at Larkfield View Care Centre in Greenock.
“We understand this is a difficult and distressing time for residents, their loved ones and staff at the home. However, our first priority is always the health, safety and wellbeing of residents.
“The Care Inspectorate inspected this home unannounced on 14 April 2026 and identified significant concerns. An Improvement Notice was issued which listed the areas of care required to improve.
“Following further monitoring, the Care Inspectorate has found evidence of serious risk to people experiencing care.
“Because of this, we have submitted an application to the sheriff court seeking cancellation of the provider’s registration of this care home. This could allow new care arrangements to be put in place for residents living in the home.
“We are working closely with partners including Inverclyde Health and Social Care Partnership to ensure the residents experience appropriate care that meets their needs during this difficult time.
“Everyone in Scotland has the right to good quality, safe care that meets their needs and respects their rights. Anyone with a concern about a care service can call us on 0345 600 9527.”
