IN Pictures — Views Of Greenock Town Centre’s ‘Hidden Oasis’ From The Late 1980s

IMAGES of the West Burn dam in central Greenock from 1988.

The photos were sent in to Inverclyde Now by a reader after we published aerial views of the site as it is now.

The dam, into which the West Burn used to feed, was located beside the railway line at West Station, behind tenements on Nelson Street and The Range store.

It was breached some years ago. The burn now flows straight through the overgrown site.
