AWARD-Winning Young Singer To Perform At Choir’s Spring Concert

ALLEGRIA Choir holds its spring concert on Saturday 25 April at 7.30pm in St John’s Church in Gourock.

The concert programme, entitled A Night of Music, includes songs from The Sound of Music, a James Bond medley, a Gilbert and Sullivan selection, some favourites from South Pacific, a couple of Broadway hits and a Scottish selection.

The choir is led by conductor Anne Lawrence, with accompanist David Mackie, and will be joined by soloist Lily-Rose McShane, a junior school pupil at St Columba’s High School, Gourock. Lily was a prize-winner at the Inverclyde Music Festival and the Greenock Burns Club Schools Competition.

At the recent Robert Burns World Federation National Final, Lily Rose became the Young Burnsian 2026 by defeating a host of older participants.

The choir has received support from Inverclyde Council Community Grants Fund and earlier this year received a grant from the National Lottery Community Fund.
