INVERCLYDE’S league season gets underway with a home match against Dumfries side Kingholm on Saturday at noon.
The side are playing in Western District Cricket Union Division Four this season.

Thanks to fine efforts by Inverclyde Leisure and club members to make the Gourock Park wicket playable after the recent wet spell, the pre-season friendly against Glenpark went ahead last Saturday.
The visitors batted first, scoring 135 for 9 in 40 overs, with Inverclyde’s bowlers James, Tolan, Anwar, Ibrahim and Assad sharing the wickets, helped by a good fielding display and good catches by Cooke and Lovell.
Inverclyde reached 100 all-out in 36 overs in reply, Tolan top-scoring with 19 runs.
