Inverclyde Now Logo WATER Problems After Main Breaks

19 May, 2017 | Noticeboard

A BURST water main has led to loss of water supply, low pressure and discoloured water at properties in Greenock and Port Glasgow for much of Friday.

Scottish Water engineers carried out a repair on the pipe which was on forested land near Mackie Avenue, Port Glasgow.

In a statement on Saturday it said: “The damaged section of main was located but the progress of work was hampered by challenging ground conditions.

“Scottish Water has restored all supplies to customers; however, some customers in the Port Glasgow and Greenock area may experience low pressure or discoloured water as a result of the incident.”
