Greenock Philharmonic Society hold their spring concert on Saturday 25 March in Lyle Kirk, Newark Street at 7.30pm. Tickets cost £10. The choir will be singing Beethoven's Mass in C Major and Vaughan Williams's Serenade to Music. They will be accompanied by the Glasgow Chamber Orchestra. Professional soloists will also be performing.

CLYDE Muirshiel Park is holding a wildlife nature detectives event at Greenock Cut Visitor Centre from 1 to 3pm on Sunday 26 March. Participants will solve clues on Shielhill Glen Nature Trail. Booking is essential -- call 01475 521 458.

GREENOCK’S fire station museum's next open day is on Sunday 26 March from noon to 4pm. The museum is in the old fire station at the Municipal Buildings, Wallace Place, just off Dalrymple Street. (Vehicle access is currently via Hunter Place car park.)

BOB Dylan tribute act Bobby Does Dylan performs at Wellpark Mid Kirk, Cathcart Square, Greenock on Saturday 1 April at 7.30pm. Tickets cost £10 (children £5) available from Ad Lib Music, Jamiaca Street or at the door.

EASTER holiday tennis camps for children are being held at Fort Matilda and Ardgowan tennis clubs in Greenock. The sessions will run at Ardgowan Square from 3 April to 7 April and at Fort Matilda, Newark Street, from 10 April to 14 April. Times are 10am to noon for five to nine-year-olds and 1 to 3pm for 10 to 15-year-olds.  | Click for more information

A FREE family fun day during the school holidays is being held at Wellpark Mid Kirk, Cathcart Square, Greenock on Wednesday 5 April from 2 to 4.30pm. Attractions will include games, arts and crafts, face-painting and a popcorn machine. 

A SPRING and end-of-season plant sale is being held at Kilmacolm Cross, outside the library and Cargill Centre, on Saturday 22 April between 10am and noon. Entry is free and donations are welcome. Proceeds will go to Parklea Branching Out and Scotland's Gardens beneficiaries.

GOUROCK Highland Games takes place on Sunday 14 May from noon to 6pm at Battery Park, Eldon Street, Greenock. It features pipe band competitions, traditional Highland games, the West of Scotland Highland Dance Championships and lots more family activities. Admission is free.
