GREENOCK Philharmonic Choir is holding an open training day later this month.
It takes place on Saturday 23 August in Old Gourock and Ashton Parish Church, Gourock, PA19 1PW.
Registration is from 10am, and singing starts at 10.30. The cost is £15, and all music is provided. There will be tea, coffee and plenty of home baking.
It is open to all singers, including those not involved in any choir and also to those involved in other choirs. Extensive experience or great expertise are not necessary.
Conductor Nick Wilks said: “It is not a traditional Come and Sing event, but a singing workshop which uses a range of different music alongside movements from the Vivaldi Gloria (including some African layered singing and Eastern European folk music) to help singers find the sweet spot in terms of the three pillars of choral singing — healthy posture and support, breathing and how to access your own individual voice at its best.”
