
SIX members of Port Glasgow Otters swim team participated in two separate competitions, returning with 14 medals and several personal best (PB) times between them.
Aimee Phillips and Katy Boyle travelled to the Olympia in Dundee as part of the Disability Sport Glasgow Team in the SDS National Senior Championships for Swimmers with a Learning Disability.
This was a challenging competition with 10 teams competing in 89 races within the 26 events.
Aimee won two gold medals in the 25m Backcrawl (Class 8) and 25m Freestyle (Class 7).
Katy just missed out in the 100m Freestyle (Open) but placed 2nd in the 50m Breaststroke (Class 2).

Meanwhile, Ruairidh Craynor, Zak Gallacher, Isaac Dunning and Richard Browning competed in the Jubilee Gala at The Galleon Centre in Kilmarnock.
This was also a difficult competition with nine teams participating in the 32 events.

Ruairidh won a gold medal in the 25m Backstroke (Class 5) and a bronze in the 50m Freestyle (Class 2).
Zak won a gold medal in the 50m Backstroke (Class 2) and a bronze medal in the 100m Freestyle (Open).
Isaac won a bronze medal in the 50m Backstroke and a gold medal in the 50m Freestyle (both Class 1).
Richard won two silver medals in the 100m Backstroke and the 100m Freestyle (both Open).
At the end of the competition, the four swimmers competed in the 4x50m Freestyle Relay, winning a further silver medal each by placing second.
The club congratulates all six swimmers on their achievements and thanks coaches Jennifer, Yvonne, Andrea and Eve for assisting the swimmers poolside.
