NEW designs for development of a detached house overlooking the Clyde at Gourock have been approved by Inverclyde planners.
The two-storey, three bedroom property, with balcony, is proposed for a sloping, undeveloped plot at 1 Turnberry Avenue.

Consent was previously given twice before for a house at the site but revised plans were again submitted to Inverclyde Council for approval.
Officials have now given permission, stating: “The current proposal seeks amendments to the approved design and, whilst it introduces changes to the external appearance and internal arrangement of the dwelling, it maintains a form of development that is compatible with the character of the surrounding area.
“The proposal is not considered to give rise to unacceptable impacts on residential amenity, road safety or visual amenity.”
