THE lifeboat from Largs was sent to the aid of a boat in difficulty on , taking in water, on the Clyde off Wemyss Bay.

The alarm was raised just after 11pm (Wednesday) by two people on board an eight-metre rigid inflatable boat that had lost engine power.

A lifeboat crew member boarded to assess the water ingress before a tow was established.

The boat’s occupants had dropped their anchor to prevent them drifting on to the shore.

The vessel was towed into Kip Marina where Greenock, Largs and Ardrossan Coastguard Rescue Teams were in attendance.
