
NATHAN Love of Greenock Golf Club was crowned the winner of the Greenock and District Junior Championship.
The competition has been running since 1953 and is held at the four Inverclyde golf clubs on a rota basis, with Port Glasgow Golf Club being the host club in 2025.
It is open to all junior golfers (under the age of 18 before the 1 January 2025) who are members of the clubs in the Tail o’ the Bank area: Cowal, Gleddoch, Gourock, Greenock, Lochwinnoch, Port Glasgow, Skelmorlie and Whinhill.
The trophy is awarded to the winner of the Scratch section and Nathan won this with a good gross score of 76. Runner-up was Euan Watters (Gourock G.C.) with a gross score of 77. Third place went to Joseph Gisbey (Greenock G.C.) with a gross score of 80.

The Handicap section was won by Sam Lyons (Port Glasgow G.C.) with a magnificent nett score of 61. Runner-up in this section was Ollie McCarter (Greenock G.C.) with a nett 65, one shot ahead of Ross Docherty (Greenock G.C.) who took third place courtesy of a better inward half (BIH) from Jamie Clark (Port Glasgow G.C.)
The day was a great celebration of Junior golf in Inverclyde.
