FURTHER Prostate Cancer Test Date Added As Part Of McGill’s Buses Effort

25 February, 2026 | Local

MEN over 40 in Inverclyde have another opportunity to get a free prostate cancer test as McGill’s Buses continue their support for a nationwide screening initiative.

The company has added another day following the success of sessions earlier this month that saw around 1,200 men get tested across Inverclyde and Renfrewshire.

“There has been exceptional demand and some people were unable to get an appointment last week so we’re happy to provide an extra day’s testing facility as this is such a great initiative”, said McGill’s co-owner, Sandy Easdale.

McGill’s co-owner, James Easdale added: “The take up from the local community has been phenomenal. Not only are people benefiting from tests, they are also doing their bit to help improve early detection of prostate cancer which is vital.”

The screening is part of the Scottish Prostate Cancer Initiative which aims to improve diagnosis and gather vital information to shape future testing and treatment.

Testing, by taking a non-invasive blood sample, will be available at the Kerr Hall, 11 George Square, PA15 1QP, on Monday (2 March) between 9am and 4.50pm.

Booking is required and can be done online. Booking closes at 3pm on 1 March (follow the instructions below, using SCOTLAND if prompted for a code). No walk-ins will be accepted.
