POLICE have launched a targeted action plan in an effort to tackle disorder and anti-social behaviour in the Port Glasgow area.
Following community concerns about disturbances involving youths plus vandalism, fire-raising and drug-dealing, Police Scotland say local officers are implementing a robust strategy designed to provide reassurance to residents and businesses.

The multi-agency effort involves increased high-visibility patrols in key hot-spot areas, in close collaboration with Inverclyde Council, British Transport Police and the Scottish Fire and Rescue Service.
Officers will also be working directly with schools to engage with young people and deter further disruptive behaviour.
Inverclyde community policing inspector Chris McKay said: “We have listened to the residents of the Port Glasgow area and understand the distress and frustration that this has caused.
“Anti-social behaviour and disorder is completely unacceptable and will not be tolerated. Those intent on behaving in this manner can expect to be targeted, disrupted and prosecuted.
“This new action plan significantly increases our footprint in the area, allowing officers to respond swiftly and robustly to those who are causing problems.”
