INVERCLYDE Cho’s Tae Kwon-Do academy held its annual black-belt grading.

Four students successfully graded for black-belt, from 2nd degree to 1st degree, overseen by Master Charles Boyle, 7th degree black-belt and chief instructor, at the academy’s new venue, St Margaret’s Church, 67 Finch Rd, Greenock.

The students had been training intensely for almost a year and had also undertaken three pre-gradings, to prepare themselves for the gruelling three-and-a-half-hour grading.

Students promoted were:

— Abigail Pollock to 3rd degree,

— Jaxon Boyle promoted to 2nd degree,

— Sean Bryceland and Carolyn Pollock promoted to 1st degree.

The academy thank Logan Boyle for helping out with testing on the night.

Classes are held from age six-plus on Tuesday and Friday nights (6pm to 7pm, junior class, and 7pm to 8pm, senior classes), with a week’s free trial available.
