PLANS are being drawn up for housing at the site of a Greenock church demolished last year.
Larkfield Housing Association wants to develop properties at Norfolk Road on land formerly occupied by the St Ninian’s Church of Scotland building. It’s expected that there would be 23 units.

A report updating Inverclyde councillors states: “Early discussions have taken place with Inverclyde Council’s planning department, and an indicative housing mix and site layout have been shared with Larkfield HA to establish the preferred tenure and design approach.
“The proposed scheme is anticipated to deliver social rented housing, with the intention of providing elderly amenity cottage flats.

“This will help address significant local demand for such homes and, in turn, free up larger family properties for social rent.
“To make the site build-ready, key consents and approvals will be required, including planning, building warrant, Scottish Water, funding approval, and Larkfield Housing Association Board approval.
“Curb Property Development has been engaged as development agents to assist in progressing the scheme.”
