MORTON have announce that technical head coach Billy Davies has now left the club.

Davies was brought in last summer to support previous first team manager Dougie Imrie.

The club said that his “vast knowledge and experience has been extremely valuable both off and on the pitch” adding: “Billy has supported the club diligently throughout this season, most recently during the period we recruited a new first team manager, providing support throughout to the team, staff, and board. He has dedicated his time with the club to covering many different aspects of the footballing department.

“With the new management structure now in place, the club and Billy have agreed the time is right to part ways on a positive footing.”

Club director Graham Barr said: “On behalf of the club, I would like to offer our grateful thanks to Billy for all that he has undertaken since arriving in the summer.

“Billy’s hard work and dedication to his role have been appreciated by everyone at Greenock Morton and he moves on with our very best wishes for the future.”

Davies stated: “It has been a privilege to work at Greenock Morton for these last few months.”
