DETECTIVES are appealing following a suspicious fire in Port Glasgow.
Emergency services were called at 3am on Saturday to a blaze involving the bin area at the rear of flats on John Wood Street.
The fire was quickly extinguished by Scottish Fire and Rescue Service.

Detective Constable Sarah Russell said: “I am appealing to anyone who was in the area around that time who may have noticed something out of the ordinary.
“I would also ask motorists with dash-cam and anyone with doorbell recording equipment to check their footage for any images which could assist our investigation. Any small piece of information could prove significant.”
Anyone with information is asked to call Police Scotland via 101, quoting incident number 0438 of 5 September.
