MORTON suffered a 3:1 defeat against ninth-placed Airdrieonians, with the Greenock side down to 10 men for around two-thirds of the away match.
Michael Garrity put Morton ahead in the 10th minute but the home side equalised just six minutes later and Cammy Ballantyne was sent off in the 36th minute.
Airdrieonians sealed their win with goals in the 47th and 85th minutes, with things only getting worse for Morton as Curtis Main was also shown red in the 82nd minute.
Morton are now in seventh place in The Championship, equal on points with sixth-placed Raith Rovers.
