19 May, 2023 | Local, Noticeboard

BEACON Arts Centre’s pantomime this year will be Beauty and the Beast.

The Greenock venue will produce the show in-house for the second year in a row, putting a fun-filled and local spin on the traditional fairy tale.

Beauty and the Beast’s full cast will be announced in the coming weeks.

The 2023 run gets underway on Friday 8 December and there will be multiple performances running over the festival period until Hogmanay.

Tickets are on sale now, with customers able to book for last year’s prices for a limited time at www.beaconartscentre.co.uk.

Group discounts are available and there will be special shows taking place for local schoolchildren.

The Beacon is committed to making the pantomime accessible to all, with British Sign Language and relaxed performances being planned, free tickets for disabled companions, and wheelchair access throughout the venue.

In 2022, the Beacon experienced a record-breaking year for its panto as it welcomed more than 17,000 audience members across 40 performances of Aladdin, which starred Still Game favourites Jane McCarry and Mark Cox.

Lesley Davidson, general manager and acting joint director at Beacon Arts Centre, said: “We are thrilled to announce that tickets are now on sale for the Beacon’s 2023 panto, Beauty and the Beast, and can’t wait to reveal the full cast in the coming weeks.

“The hilarious family pantomime will be suitable for all ages, with audiences invited to join the adventure as this traditional story is given a unique local twist.

“Those who wish to book early will be able to buy their tickets for last year’s prices.

“We look forward to welcoming our amazing Inverclyde audience back for this fun-filled panto which is being produced by our talented in-house team again.”
