THE fifth Terraza Del Clyde music festival, presented by Bowman Rebecchi, came to a close with local DJ and music producer Bruce Glenny headlining the Brow House stage in a ‘back to back’ set with Nick McDougall.

Earlier Dylan McPhee B2B Ronnie Pacitti had the place rocking with their set. This was just after DJ Juanito Chanclas ensured the Cafe Mambo in the Park theme had the audience dancing with his high energy vibes usually reserved for the clubs and beaches of Ibiza.

This year’s event expanded to three days, with well over 1,500 people attending, and saw the introduction of the Disco Decker Bus (sponsored by McGill’s Buses). Also for the first time the festival catered for families with a small fun fair and a face painting stall.

Event organiser Bruce Glenny was delighted that the age of those going along ranged from babies with their parents through to people in their 80’s. He added that it was also great to welcome local clergy to the festival.

The community benefits of the event included the promotion of local artists, DJs and traders while also raising significant funds for Ardgowan Hospice from ticket purchases and creating work experience roles for local students.

Gourock student Erin Morrison said: “As part of my HND in Marketing, PR and Advertising, I reached out for a placement with Bowman Rebecchi and Terraza Del Clyde. I couldn’t believe when I was successful and to top it off I was given the opportunity to work with the Terraza Del Clyde planning and delivery team. Being witness to the background work and actually playing a part in the event has been so valuable. Thank you to Bowman Rebecchi plus Bruce and Cara from Summers Friends Productions for what was a great learning experience.”

The weekend event was a huge success both for Summer Friends Productions and Greenock Wanderers Rugby Football Club. Event producer Bruce Glenny thanks all at Bowman Rebecchi, Cherry Blossom Events and all sponsors including Brow House, McGill’s, Shipyard Gin, and Purdie’s, plus those who purchased tickets and helped Terraza Del Clyde make a significant donation to local charity Ardgowan Hospice.
