UPDATE 2 September 2022: The strike has been called off
ALL of Inverclyde Council’s schools and early years centres will be closed for three days during strike action in September.
The council has written to parents and carers confirming there will be a full shutdown of its educational establishments on 6, 7 and 8 September because of industrial action.
The letter states: “The industrial action affects cleaners, janitors, pupil support staff, office staff, technical staff and catering staff.
“Every establishment has conducted a specific risk assessment for their circumstances and all have concluded that it will be unsafe to open on the days in question.
“While we have been formally notified by trade unions of the intention to strike, there is also the possibility that through ongoing negotiations the strike may not take place.”
