11 August, 2020 | Local

DISCOUNT supermarket chain Aldi have applied for planning permission to install a reverse vending machine at their store in Greenock.

The unit is proposed for the car park of the supermarket in Patrick Street. Five parking spaces would be lost.

People would be able to put empty drinks containers in the machine as part of the Scottish Government’s deposit return scheme.

The proposal is pending consideration by Inverclyde Council planners.
