PLAN To Turn Former Port Glasgow Church Into House

26 April, 2021 | Local, Planning

PERMISSION is being sought to convert a disused church and hall into a spacious family home.

A planning application has been submitted for the former St Martin’s premises in Mansion Avenue, Woodhall.

The building, which has floorspace of 710 square metres, was put on the market by the Church of Scotland in December for offers over £150,000.

Drawings lodged by Rebecchi Architectural Services with Inverclyde planning department show the house would have three bedrooms, dining and sitting areas, a large games area and an office.

The proposal is pending consideration by council officials.

The church was built in the 1950s. St Martin’s merged with St Andrew’s in Port Glasgow town centre to become New Parish Church.
