TWO of the 106 people taking part in Greenock parkrun achieved important milestones.

George McCallum hit his century, with 99 of his runs at Greenock and Craig Love completed his 50th run; 49 of his runs have been at Greenock.

There were also two birthdays on Saturday — Erin McEleny, who had her first unsupervised run as she was turning 11, and Kathryn Sinsheimer.

Eight runners achieved personal best times over the five-kilometre Esplanade course — David Benham, Phil Melvin, Jay Porter, Stuart Donnelly, Sharon Taitt, Alex Henderson, Tony Day and Harry Mooney.

Five runners were participating in parkrun for the first time and another eight parkrun ‘tourists’ were taking part at Greenock for the first time.

Gavin Harvie, who runs with Garscube Harriers, brought along his daughter Eilidh in her buggy — they finished in under 20 minutes in 7th position.
