Inverclyde Now Logo GREENOCK Parkrun Achievements For Angeline

NINETY-seven people took part in Greenock parkrun on Saturday morning, among them Angeline Austin completing her 150th.

Angeline achieved the milestone while volunteering as tail runner. This was also her 50th time volunteering.

Angeline started participating in parkrun in August 2014 and she soon became a regular at the weekly five-kilometre Esplanade event, as well as the James Watt post-run coffee each Saturday.

Fourteen people were completing the Greenock course for the first time, many visiting from other parkrun events for the festive break.

Despite windy conditions, five runners improved their times. Local teacher Sandra Campbell cut more than 30 seconds from her previous best to complete the course in 21:39. Also achieving personal bests were Shelley Thompson (26:34); Louise Jourdan (26:50); Susan Clark (27:43) and Jodie Nelson (40:41).

An extra parkrun will take place on New Year’s Day at 11am.
