Inverclyde Now Logo GOLF — Prize-giving For Gourock’s Roxburgh Trophy

17 December, 2018 | Local

A FULL field of players competed for the annual Roxburgh Trophy at Gourock Golf Club.

Favourable conditions meant the ball was running well on the fairways with the Texas Scramble format enabling the big hitters to threaten driving a few of the par fours.

A crucial part of the Texas Scramble format was the putting on the greens with single puts being key to accumulating a low score.

The winners were split by 0.1 of a point with brothers Tom and Gary McMaster together with Mark Coyle and Stuart Rafferty coming out on top.

Gourock Golf Club is grateful to Colin Grierson of Grierson Plumbing and Watterman Renewable Energy for continued sponsorship of this event.

Colin went along as a guest to the club prize-giving and presented the trophy to Mark Coyle, left, and Gary McMaster, right.
