PLANNING permission has been given for a house on the site of a former community centre in Greenock.
Inverclyde officials have agreed that a two-storey, four-bedroom detached house with garage and outbuildings can be built on land beside 87 Cawdor Crescent.

They stated in their decision report: “It is acknowledged that the appearance of the proposed house will contrast with neighbouring residential properties.
“However, it would not be expected that a contemporary designed dwelling would replicate a distinct design type associated with a particular construction era.”
The large garden area will include space for four cars, three sheds and a hot tub area.
The plot was the site of Fancy Farm community hall which was demolished in 2021.
