Inverclyde Now Logo MCGILL’S Buses To Cut Service Frequency During Coronavirus Crisis

19 March, 2020 | Local

MCGILL’S Buses are introducing an emergency timetable from Monday (23 March) in response to the coronavirus situation.

The company say changes are needed because of a big reduction in the number of passengers as people work from home or self-isolate. The measure is also required to protect the jobs of its hundreds of employees.

McGill’s stated: “Almost all services will continue to operate, most at half of their normal frequency.”

The company is also asking that all customers switch to a contactless payment method as no change will be available on buses for hygiene reasons and to stay in line with the recommended social distancing guidance.

UPDATE: 27 March — A further revised emergency timetable is being introduced from Saturday 28 March and can be viewed on the McGill’s Buses website
