POLICE have appealed for witnesses after a man was attacked in a common close in Greenock town centre.
The 38-year-old was stabbed in the leg at a property in West Blackhall Street around 2.20pm on Thursday.
He was taken to the Queen Elizabeth University Hospital, Glasgow with serious injuries and remains in a stable condition.
Police are appealing for witnesses to contact them on 101, quoting incident number 1851 of 26 January.
