A 44-YEAR-old man is being treated in hospital after being seriously hurt during a group disturbance in Greenock.
Police sealed off a large area of Greenock town centre following the incident in Cathcart Square at 2.10am (Sunday).
A Police Scotland spokesperson said: “An investigation is underway following a disturbance between a group of people.
“The man was seriously injured in the incident. He was taken to the Queen Elizabeth University Hospital in Glasgow. Enquiries are ongoing.
Anyone with information or footage which could assist officers is asked to call 101 quoting incident number 0356 of 25 January.
