DETECTIVES are appealing for witnesses after a man was seriously assaulted by youths in Greenock Cemetery.
The 43-year-old man was attacked around 12.50pm on Tuesday by two male youths on the South Street side of the cemetery.
The attackers were on e-bikes and were wearing dark clothing with their faces covered. They made off in the direction of the Bow Farm area.
The victim was taken to hospital for treatment.

Detective Constable Cheryl O’Donnell said: “This incident left a man with serious injuries, and extensive enquiries are ongoing to trace those responsible.
“I would appeal to anyone who was in the area of the cemetery at the time and saw the incident, or anyone matching the description of the suspects, to come forward and speak to officers.”
