Inverclyde Now Logo MAN ‘Critical’ After Taking Unwell During Retail Park Disturbance

A 64-YEAR-old man remains seriously ill in hospital after taking unwell during a disturbance in Greenock.

Members of the public and police officers gave CPR to the man who is believed to have suffer a heart attack.

The incident, involving two men. happened at the Waterfront Retail Park just before 2pm on Saturday.

The man was taken to hospital where his condition this morning was ‘critical but stable’.

Detective Inspector David Wagstaff said: “There is no evidence there was any physical contact between any of those involved.”

Police have appealed for the other man who was involved in the incident to contact them. He was in his mid to late 20s, slim, around 5ft 10in tall and was possibly wearing a grey top.

Any witness are asked to call police on 101 quoting incident 1820 of 26 September.

Large areas of the retail park were sealed off for some hours while police investigated.
