THE £3million extension to Gourock Primary School is almost completed.
Pupils and staff returning for the new term are already using the new hall and remodelled office accommodation at the Davidson Drive school, with the rest of the work expected to be finished next month.
A report updating councillors states: “The completion of the final smaller phases, including the conversion of the existing kitchen area to teaching space and the new car park are progressing with completion anticipated in September.
“The temporary modular accommodation will be decommissioned and removal programmed for the October holiday to minimise disruption.
The project was delayed when the original contractor ceased trading. Progress and costs were then significantly affected by the covid pandemic.
