INVESTMENT In Countryside Visitor Centres

FACILITIES at Clyde Muirshiel Regional Park sites in Inverclyde are set for upgrades totalling almost £450,000.

The investment from Inverclyde Council comes after the local authority took over the areas of the regional park that are in the district, and the associated ranger service.

Investment of £250,000 has been approved to enhance the visitor centres at Greenock Cut, Cornalees, and Lunderston Bay near Gourock.

Improvements across both sites will include new signage, doors, picnic tables and bins, redecoration inside and out, roof repairs, upgrades to visitor toilets and enhanced security.

The figure includes a £72,000 grant from national body NatureScot, which was formerly known as Scottish Natural Heritage.

The council is spending a further £195,000 on a play park at Lunderston Bay.
