INVERCLYDE’S leading property business, Bowman Rebecchi has launched an internship programme.

The scheme — for 16 to 18-year-olds — is being run in partnership with Career Ready, a national social mobility charity which supports young people to get into work.

The programme provides support to Fifth Year school pupils as they transition into Sixth Year, with a paid, four-week summer internship, alongside 18 months of mentoring support from the business.

The interns will be based at Bowman Rebecchi’s Inverclyde office in Gourock, gaining experience in a variety of departments, including residential and commercial property, architectural services, advertising, and marketing.

Working within the team and supported by a dedicated line manager and mentor, they will have the opportunity to meet and network with colleagues, develop important employability skills, and contribute to team projects.

Sixteen-year-old Jack Crombie from Port Glasgow High School is the first to undertake the course with the firm.

Marco Rebecchi, director at Bowman Rebecchi, said: “We are delighted to welcome Jack as our first intern and look forward to helping him grow and develop in the coming weeks.

“Investing back into the community and providing opportunities to local residents is something we are very passionate about at Bowman Rebecchi.

“We are aiming to further develop the programme and hope to provide and welcome further local talent consistently alongside Career Ready and Developing the Young Workforce.”

Jack said: “I’m delighted and grateful to start this internship and to have this opportunity and I’d like to thank all of the team at Bowman Rebecchi for making me so welcome.

“I’m passionate about design and this really is the ideal internship for me to develop and grow my skills.”

Anne Wexelstein, Career Ready firector for Scotland said: “We’d like to thank Bowman Rebecchi and their staff for working with us to invest in young talent.

“Paid internships are key in helping young people develop the workplace skills and confidence they need to succeed in the world of work.”
