PORT Glasgow Churches Together held their first Easter Sunday sunrise service at Coronation Park.
The service was led by the Rev William Boyle (Church of Scotland), the Rev Susan Henderson (United Reformed Church), Captain Ian Arthur (Salvation Army), Pastor Tim Burton (Church of the Nazarene) and Father Matthew Carlin (Roman Catholic Church).
Mr Boyle, minister of New Parish Church, said: “Just over 60 people turned out which is an amazing number. We then went back to Port Glasgow New Parish Church for breakfast.”
He added: “Throughout Holy Week, Port Glasgow Churches Together worshipped together at Port Glasgow New Parish Church each night.
“We also had a Bible study on the BBC drama Broken throughout Lent which was very well received and very interesting.
“It has been a great week and people are so upbeat about doing more things together as churches from right across the town.”
