18 November, 2025 | Local

A PROJECT to improve a cycle route beside a main road in Greenock is due to get underway in January.

Inverclyde Council has awarded a £190,000 contract for the work which will be carried out on Eldon Street between Battery Park and the Esplanade.

The contract is for the construction of a new segregated cycle lane along the National Cycle Route 75 to replace the existing temporary cycle infrastructure currently in place.

Work is due to be completed by the end of March.

The council has been awarded £550,000 from active travel organisation Sustrans towards various projects across the district.
