The former Carsemeadow School, since demolished

INVERCLYDE planners are recommending that permission be given for new homes in Quarrier’s Village.

Berkley Homes Ltd want to build nine houses on the site of the former Carsemeadow School on Craigbet Road.

Councillors on Inverclyde Planning Board are due to consider the application on Wednesday.

Officials say the development should be given the go-ahead. Their report states: “The proposed development is in a sustainable location and strongly accords with national and strategic policies that direct development to existing brownfield sites within urban areas in the first instance before green belt sites.”

There would be seven detached properties and two semi-detached dwellings, with a mixture of three, four and five bedrooms.
