EXPANSION Plan For Busy Gourock Cafe/Restaurant
GOUROCK’S cafe and restaurant scene could be set for further expansion as an established town centre eaterie applies for an extension.
Cafe Flava in Kempock Street want permission to upgrade its existing cafe/restaurant at first floor level and extend it into a neighbouring flat in the same building. New picture windows would also be installed at the rear of the premises.
Plans submitted to Inverclyde Council show seating for 44 people in the expanded upstairs area.

The new application is pending consideration by council officials and comes as several other developments are being progressed in Kempock Street.
Permission to use the former post office at 15 Kempock Street as a coffee shop and delicatessen with seating for 20 was given earlier this month.
Planners are still considering an application to turn the former Greggs bakery nearby into a cafe.
In April the Cafe Continental was given planning approval to create dining space on the upper floor at the premises with access to a roof terrace.
